Meet Dan Drilling, owner of Panda Productions

Dan ventured to Nashville TN in 1985 from Piper City IL. The decision to move came after working numerous night clubs and appearing in country music shows throughout the central part of the United States with many of Nashville's recording artists.

Dan's first opportunity came shortly after        his move to Nashville by accepting a guitar position with recording artist Kathy Lynn Sacra. Many doors were opened thanks to Kathy, and in the early part of 1986 Dan was offered a job to work with an artist that reinvented country music by the name of Randy Travis. After touring with Randy for about a year, weariness of the road and a new baby prompted a change in lifestyle.

The following three years came with a variety of musical challenges. While mostly freelancing, Dan was given the chance to work sessions, showcases, and live performances with a variety of artists and a very diverse mixture of music that later aided him in his recording career.

1990 began another page in Dan's career with additional opportunities from Grand Ole Opry legend Jimmy C. Newman. This particular career move allowed him to continue his pursuit as a session player and later open Panda Productions in 1992. He continues to do sessions, produce CD projects, operate Panda Productions, and appear weekly on The Grand Ole Opry with Jimmy C. Newman and Cajun Country.
